Not Only in America

On Wednesday night, ABC will air in-depth profiles of Senators Obama & McCain.

The by-line to the TV commercial is “Only in America”. It’s a fitting by-line as both Presidential candidates have often stated that only in America would their ascension and pretention to the Oval Office could happen. They are indeed impressive ascensions but they are not exclusive to the fabric of America. Americans do not hold the monopoly on dreams nor on realizations. It is an insult of them to imply that they do. A quick look at the repertory of World Leaders and one will see that most individual who reaches the top of the political food chain in any country has an extraordinary story. Nelson Mandela, Lech Walesa, Evo Morales, Michele Bachelet and the list goes on. So no, not only in America.
