Boys Can Cry But Girls Cannot.
I was never a particular big fan of former Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi. I didn’t dislike her but I didn’t look up to her like I do a Kamala Harris or a Hillary Clinton. Then, she lost her position at the last mid-term elections and I saw her for who she was: a formidable woman. Many experts in the matter have written and said that she is the most efficient Speaker of the House, ever. I believe them. When she handed over the gavel to newly elected Speaker of the House John Boehner, her replacement, she was gracious and strong.
Most women will tell you that one should never cry at her workplace. If you’ve had a rough day, you wait to be in your parked car to cry. That’s a rule. Nancy Pelosi has never cried in her place of work because she knew, the media, her mostly male colleagues and every Republican would have had a field day with her and would have questioned her competency. On the flip side, John Boehner has been crying at every opportunity. There’s nothing wrong with a man crying except when it’s not OK for a woman to do the same.
John Boehner on 60 Minutes doing what else? Crying.
